Pricing & Fees

What is the maximum a notary can charge in Utah?

Quick Answer

Utah law caps notary fees at $10 per notarial act for in-person services and $25 per act for remote online notarization. Travel and convenience fees are separate.

Utah Code sets clear maximum fees for notarial acts:

  • In-person notarization: $10 maximum per notarial act
  • Remote online notarization (RON): $25 maximum per notarial act

A "notarial act" typically means one signature acknowledgment or one jurat. If your document requires multiple signatures to be notarized, each counts as a separate act. For example, a document with three signers would be three notarial acts.

Fees that are not capped by the per-act maximum include:

  • Travel/mileage fees for mobile notary service
  • After-hours or weekend convenience fees
  • Printing or document preparation charges

At NotaryLTD, we keep our pricing simple and always quote the full cost upfront. Most clients with one or two signatures pay between $10 and $50 total for in-person service, including travel within the Park City and Salt Lake City areas.

For loan signing packages, pricing is based on the overall assignment rather than individual acts due to the volume of documents involved.
