The travel fee covers the notary's transportation costs. It is calculated at the IRS standard mileage rate of $0.70 per mile, measured round-trip from the notary's office to your home. For a single notarization at a home within 10 miles of our office, your total might be $10 for the act plus $14 in travel, totaling $24. For two documents, it would be $20 for acts plus $14 in travel, totaling $34. The travel fee is charged once regardless of how many documents you have, so batching multiple notarizations into one visit gives you the best value.

How to Prepare Your Home
